Many people often ask a question from vets that Why is my Dog Sad. Well, the answer is simple that animals also have feelings just like humans, and they can also face depression sometimes. But no one can tell if it is the same depression as we humans feel, because they are not able to describe their feelings to us, so obviously it will be useless to ask them.
Well if you want to find out if your favourite pal is upset then you need to observe him very carefully. Because when we humans get all depressed then we suddenly stop eating, our sleep time increases, and we always try to stay alone and quiet rather being surrounded by people.Well, something similar goes by with dogs as well, and if you both are really close to each other then it will not take very long to find out if there is something bothering him.
Reasons to get upset
Well, there are several reasons your pet dog might get upset about, and as obvious those reasons are different than the ones we human dace. So it is really necessary for you to understand every possible reason. The possible reasons could be the death of the owner, or if any of another animal friend of your pet has died. Or if there is some sudden change in his life, like you have moved to a new house, or bought a new pet etc.
Another reason would be when you start giving less importance to your pet or spend less time with him.Even if there is a change in his daily routine could cause him depression. All these reasons might be really small for you to get depressed, but these are some of the biggest issues that might hurt your favourite companion.
Depression to Death
And the worst is that these state of depression could lead them to death. There are several stories that on the death of the owner or any fellow companion, dogs usually start mourning and stops eating eventually, which slowly leads them to death as well.
So make sure that you keep a close eye on your pet if there is some recent incident inside your house, or if there is something changed in the surrounding. The first change that you would probably notice will be that your dog will either eats less or just stops eating at all, which is the first state of depression.
The second change that you will observe is dullness in his actions, which is not difficult to notice because dogs are quite active and energetic and hey usually likes to run around and jump on you. And if your dog is having some injury then he will start to lick himself on that area which becomes obvious that there is something wrong with him.
And last but not least is that he starts to sleep less, and a normal dog would sleep for at least twelve hours in asingle day. So this is the point where you take your canine to vet for a complete checkup and diagnosis.
